The Last Run
Greetings to all from Brent and Brenda Jackson
Well, we are roughly 3 months from the 2012 Texas Welcome Home Run. March 11th will be upon us before we know it. I hope 2012 gives us a very safe and successful run.
It is my unpleasant task to inform you the 2012 will be Brenda and my last year to do the ride. We have had 10 great years and we would like to go out with a great ride. The run has accomplished much more than we had ever hoped for. It will also be the end of the Texas Welcome Home Run, also known as the Texas Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway Motorcycle Run. Of course anyone may do the run as they wish but it will have to be under a different name. These names are copywrited and we are retiring the names.
We do this for one reason. We have all worked very hard to establish a good reputation with several CMA chapters, newspapers, TV stations, businesses, local, county, and State law enforcement and various Veterans groups all along US Hwy 83. We do not want any one or anything to ruin this reputation by using these names and then doing something that would detract from all the good things that have been accomplished during the last 10 years.
So lets all work hard to make our final ride our best ride ever. God has blessed us with the most wonderful country in the world and hundreds of thousands of men and women have sacrificed to secure our freedom. Thanks to all who have served and especially to the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Hotel in Junction
We have been made a very generous offer from the Best Western Plus Dos Rios in Junction. This is a beautiful hotel with great features including a HOT BREAKFAST.
They are offering a group rate to our riders for March 12th, 2012 of $68.00 plus appropriate taxes (UGGG) The is the absolute cheapest rate Best Western gives according to the manager. Rooms at this motel run from $80.00 and up. She has even offered to open the breakfast 30 minutes early. AND this rate covers up to 5 people in a room.
To receive this special rate you must CALL the hotel. You cannot get this rate using the Internet. The hotel's phone number is 325-446-3700. Tell the desk cleark you are with the Texas Welcome Home Run. They are blocking off 30 rooms for us and will release the unsold rooms about 10 days prior to the ride so please make your reservations early. Brenda and I will be staying here and hope you will too.
